We recommended you spend approximately 110 hours of your time studying for the Equality and Diversity Course. The pace of study is completely up to you. To give an example, if you dedicate 2 hours a week to the course it would take you a year to complete but if you could spare 4 hours a week you could complete it in six months.

Unit 1 - Intermediate Equality and Diversity in the Workplace: The difference between equality and diversity - Which groups in society are most vulnerable to stereotyping and how this can lead to prejudice and discrimination - Appreciate current legislation supporting equality in the workplace - The concepts of bullying and harassment as forms of discrimination - The impact of discrimination on an individual and an organisation - How working practices support or cause barriers to equality and diversity
Unit 2 - An Overview of Equality and Diversity Issues: Be aware of concepts of identity and of the individual in relationship to other people - Have an awareness of the need for the individual and the organisation to respect individuality and difference - Have an awareness of appropriate underpinning legislation in relationship to the organisation’s policy and practice - Prejudice and discrimination - The concepts of bullying, harassment, institutional racism, racism, sexism and stereotyping - The presence of practical and communication barriers to equality and diversity – Awareness of key components that would be instrumental in an organisation’s action planning in support of equality and diversity
Unit 3 - Equality and Fairness Development for Employees: Understand own strengths and weaknesses about own personality, culture and beliefs - The principles of group behaviour - The impact of different cultures found in the workplace and community - What improvements can contribute to making the workplace or other group a fairer culture - What diversity means and how to promote it in the workplace - What harassment is and the importance of dealing with it - Different ways of dealing with conflict

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 Certificate in Equality and Diversity awarded by NCFE.
NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland. The course is recognised in Scotland by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority).
