CIW Web Design Specialist

The CIW Web Design Specialist course has been designed for individuals who wish to gain the skills necessary for a career in Web Design. While doing this course you will build on your existing Website authoring knowledge and learn about ethical and legal issues pertaining to Web Design. You will consider the user’s experience when they visit websites, with emphasis on navigation, accessibility and usability.

Software is a key element of Web Design and students will learn about various graphics and web authoring software such as Adobe’s Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash and Microsoft Expression Web.

CIW E-Commerce Specialist

In order to set yourself apart from the herd, you will need some fundamental knowledge of E-Commerce practices and standards. If you work in a business environment anything you can do to enhance your skills is always a bonus. Students are taught about the processes of conducting business online, managing technical issues associated with E-Commerce websites and Customer Relationship Management software (CRM). They will also gain knowledge of business promotion and legal issues such as taxation and international shipping.

Exams

To earn the CIW Web Design Professional certification, you must take and pass two certification examinations:

•  CIW Site Design Specialist 1D0-520 examination
•  CIW E-Commerce Specialist 1D0-525 examination

Once both exams have been passed, the student will then receive CIW Web Design Professional Certification. Start Learning does not organise CIW exams on your behalf, students are required to organise this themselves.
